Kenneth Nadler, professor in the Department of Botany and Plant Pathology, earned a bachelor's degree in physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a doctorate in life sciences from Rockefeller University.
He has been on the faculty at MSU since 1970.
His interests in teaching are far ranging: general education (biology) courses for nonmajors, upper level majors course in plant physiology, a series of cell and molecular biology courses for secondary teachers, and monitoring the popular Frontiers in Biology weekend courses for teachers.
He is also interested in instructional technology for biology and has developed and implemented 'CAPA' (computer-individualized) problems for homework and examinations in plant physiology and general biology courses. (See Artus, N.N. and Nadler, K.D. 1999 A Computer-Assisted Personalized Approach in an Undergraduate Plant Physiology Class. Plant Physiology 119: 1177-1186). He continues investigating in specific areas of plant function.
