For more than ten years, Jean has worked as a secretary at MSU. Before joining the Division, she worked with science faculty in the College of Education. She served as a secretary on a NS- funded research grant, the Secondary Teacher Preparation Program and served as the editorial secretary for the Journal of Research in Science Teaching.
Jean is secretary to Joan Ferrini-Mundy, associate dean and director of the Division of Science and Mathematics Education. Jean's responsibilities to Dr. Ferrini-Mundy include overseeing and scheduling meetings and correspondence. She works with the Division administrators to consistently provide high-quality classes and programs that are sponsored by DSME.
In addition to providing support within the Division, Jean is a source of information and assistance to the mathematics and science education community at MSU. She arranged cross-department meetings, assists non-DSME faculty and graduate students with related work, meetings and travel requests. She works closely with the director in an effort to build stronger cross-departmental relationships with other MSU colleges and departments.
