Joan Ferrini-Mundy is Director of the Division of Science and Mathematics Education and a Professor with joint appointments in Mathematics and Teacher Education. She is also Associate Dean for Science and Mathematics Education in the College of Natural Science. Her research interests are in calculus learning and mathematics education reform, K-14. She recently chaired the writing group for the Principles and Standards for School Mathematics, the revision of the NCTM Standards. She currently is involved in research projects about the development of leadership in mathematics and science education, and about knowledge of algebra for secondary school teaching.
