Sandra Crespo is an Associate Professor in the Teacher Education Department. She is interested in exploring learning environments and pedagogies that promote students' understanding of mathematics, and teachers' and preservice teachers' inquiry into mathematics teaching and learning. Her work has focused on the use of writing, the use of stories or cases, and the practice of teacher research in mathematics and teacher education classrooms. She has helped develop new mathematics curriculum text materials and helped design teacher professional development programs to aid the Dominican Republic's quest to improve the quality of its mathematics teaching and learning.
